The Afro-Caribbean Food Bank Canada Center (“ACFB”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and your choices. We follow Canada’s PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA.
What we collect and why
We collect your name and contact details when you message us, sign up for our newsletter, request a food hamper, or donate. When you request a hamper we also collect household and dietary information you choose to share (our hamper form is hosted on Google Forms). When you donate, our donation processors, such as CanadaHelps and GiveWP, handle payment, and we do not store your full card number. When you browse the site, we automatically collect standard analytics, including your IP address, device and browser, and pages viewed, through cookies and tools including Google Analytics and the Meta pixel.
We use this to provide hampers and programs, respond to you, send updates you asked for, issue tax receipts, improve the website, report totals (never individuals) to funders, and meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us operate our web host, email service (Mailchimp), form and analytics tools, and donation processors , and only as far as they need it. We do not sell your information. We never share client information with immigration authorities, landlords or employers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for functionality, analytics and advertising measurement. You can block or delete them in your browser; the site still works.
How long we keep it, and your rights
We keep client and donor records only as long as needed for our services and for the periods the Canada Revenue Agency requires for tax receipts, then securely destroy them. You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, or unsubscribe from emails, any time ; contact info@acfoodbank.ca or 780-477-8220.
