Position Summary

  The Project Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the Beyond Food program at the Afro-Caribbean Food Bank Canada Center. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating daily program operations, supporting partnerships, and ensuring effective participant engagement.

The Project Coordinator ensures the smooth implementation of key program components, including culturally appropriate food distribution, financial literacy workshops, and one-on-one coaching. This position requires strong organizational capacity, cultural awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively with community partners and diverse populations.

 Key Responsibilities

   Program Coordination & Operations

Coordinate the procurement and distribution of culturally appropriate food items in collaboration with partners and community organizations.

Support the planning and execution of weekly food distribution activities, ensuring efficiency and dignity-centered service delivery.

Maintain organized systems to support program operations, logistics, and scheduling.

  Participant Engagement & Support

Manage participant intake, registration, and scheduling processes.

Maintain accurate records and tracking systems for program participation and outcomes.

Provide ongoing support to participants to ensure a positive and inclusive experience.

 Program Delivery Support

Assist in the coordination and delivery of financial literacy workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions.

Ensure materials, facilitators, and logistics are in place for program activities.

Support facilitators and program staff during sessions and events.

 Partnerships & Community Collaboration

Liaise with partners, service providers, and community organizations to align program activities.

Support coordination efforts across multiple stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery.

Maintain strong working relationships with community collaborators.

 Outreach & Recruitment

Assist in outreach initiatives to engage participants from Black and Afro-Caribbean communities.

Support community engagement strategies, including event promotion and recruitment campaigns.

Administrative & Operational Support

Provide administrative support to ensure program milestones and deliverables are achieved.

Assist with reporting requirements by maintaining organized documentation and data.

Support the Project Manager with day-to-day operational needs and coordination tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience in program coordination, administration, or community service delivery.

Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities.

Knowledge of culturally responsive programming, particularly within Black and newcomer communities.

Ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Proficiency in basic administrative tools and program tracking systems.
